Non-fiction books for the library

Year sixes got a taster session of the brand new non-fiction books for the class library. We can’t wait to welcome the children back to the library in September.

Year sixes Reading to the Reception children

Our lovely story time time chair and benches have been used to host a story time with the year sixes. The reception children loved hearing a range of picture book stories read enthusiastically by the year sixes.

Whole school love of reading

Teachers love books and, to celebrate this,  Mrs Crouch wrapped up a diverse range of books for the staff to enjoy. Never judge a book by its cover...

Well done 5W

Congratulations to 5W, as a result of their prolific reading and wonderful reviews, they have won magical golden tokens for the book vending machine. This means two exciting new books have flown onto the shelves of the class library. We love reading, we love new books.

Maisie wins books for Year 4

Congratulations to Maisie in Year 4. As a reward for the amazing progress she has made with her writing, Maisie won a golden coin for the book vending machine in the library.

Year 6 Walk and Camp Out

It was brilliant to be out and about again! Year 6 had a beautiful walk to Minster Lovell followed by a camp out on the school field. The children were fabulous throughout, however, there are a few weary adults in school today!

Witney in Bloom is the perfect opportunity to showcase our love of books and reading. The children have worked hard with Mrs Hanson to create a stunning reading river wheelbarrow. The wheelbarrow will be proudly displayed, on The Leys, throughout July.

We were so lucky to have Ugo Anagor lead collective worships in KS1, lower juniors and upper juniors today. Ugo is an inspirational speaker and did a fabulous job of introducing this term’s value, love. The children were full of praise, ‘Positive energy’, ‘Ugo made love seem so positive’, ‘He makes me want to be a kinder person’ and ‘Ugo is kind and passionate about things’, were some of the comments. Thank you Ugo!

“I really like my school as I have lots of friends and we always have fun at playtime on the trim trail. My Teacher and TAs are kind and help me to read and spell better. I like PE especially when we play dodgeball. I like everything about my school.”
